Game Review: BioShock: Infinite

This game was fucking awesome. Go buy it. Now. Did you like the first BioShock? This one’s better. Didn’t like the first BioShock? You’re an idiot. Either way buy this shit now.

I’m sure we all know by now there’s a new setting in the series, the floating wonder in the sky, Colombia. The amount of detail and creativity that went into creating this world is astounding. Colombia is a living, breathing city. I found myself casually strolling the streets, taking in all the sites, but like any BioShock game, shit was about to get real.

Our hero, Booker DeWitt, is sent to find a girl named Elizabeth and return her to NYC. Sounds easy right? Yeah not so much. Once Booker and Elizabeth unite, she is with you for practically the rest of the game. Don’t worry though, she won’t be a burden. She actually helps you with things like finding ammo, money, salt (the stuff that fuels vigors, ie. plasmids). and can even open tears in time that reveal things like gun turrets and motorized badass George Washingtons.

If you played either of the first 2 BioShocks you know what to expect in the gameplay department, except now with the additions of Elizabeth and the skylines, battle is even more frantic and satisfying than ever.

The best part of the game, of course, is the story. And I don’t want to ruin that for you here, so just go out and buy the damn game, play it, and maybe play it again.

BioShock: Infinite gets JR’s seal of approval, two thumbs up! 🙂
